PHD offers many different styles of overhead systems and we have the experience to help you design the best system for your application and specifications. These common system styles include:
Top Running Single Girder
Top Running Single Girder (TRSG) cranes can be a quick, cost effective overhead solution that allows for safe working loads up to 15 ton generally with up to 105′ span at a Class D rating. The single girder can be constructed of either a profile beam or a custom box girder to improve girder weight and capacity.
Top Running Double Girder
Top Running Double Girder (TRDG) cranes have the ability to greatly increase the capacity when compared to single girder cranes. At Product Handling Design we have custom built boxes up to 150′ span and 150 ton capacity at a Class E Rating. TRDG cranes also allow for a higher hook height when compared to single girder cranes.
Under Running Single Girder
An Under Running Single Girder (URSG) crane has the ability to have safe working loads up to 15 ton and a span of 105′ like the TRSG, but it does not require columns, allowing for your floor to remain unobstructed and greatly increases the hook approach. In order to avoid the use of columns, the runway is anchored to the ceiling of the existing structure.
Workstation Crane
Workstation Cranes are a cost effective light to mid-capacity system that can doesn’t require extensive structural support. The modular design can be either ceiling mounted or free-standing to accommodate any material handling situation.
Jib Cranes
Jib Cranes are a type of specialty crane that allows for the user to quickly and efficiently move material within the working radius of the jib. There are different types of jibs, these include free standing, cantilever, tie-rod and wall traveling. PHD uses Gorbel, Demag, Street and Handling Systems Intl. as approved jib crane suppliers.
Gantry Cranes
A Gantry Crane is a type of specialty crane that can be seen as a semi-leg gantry crane, or a gantry crane. Gantry cranes eliminate the need for an elevated runway, greatly reducing the amount of obstacles, such as columns and bracing, in the way of the work area.
